Licensing: What ships on your device is completely open source and modifiable. Third-party components maintain their original open-source licenses. The HOMESERVER website code is Business Source License 1.1 (converts to GPL v3.0 three years after each version release). All other HOMESERVER LLC components are GPL v3.0. The manufacturing and provisioning process is proprietary to HOMESERVER LLC. More Here

Radical Ownership:

You own this completely. Upon receipt, the hardware is yours with no restrictions—you get full root access, and HOMESERVER LLC retains zero control or telemetry capabilities on your device. We cannot remotely access, troubleshoot, or update your device by design.You’re responsible for maintenance, performing updates via the provided GUI, and troubleshooting. GitHub issues are welcome for our components, but third-party software support is between you and those projects. Because everything is hosted on GitHub, the device can be rebuilt piece by piece if needed.
